挽救生命一直是救灾工作的首要任务，随着赈灾形式的变化，目前，灾区的急救、卫生、以及生活必需品供应均需全力保障。为此，诺基亚启动援助第二阶段方案，再次捐赠700万元人民币及500部手机的捐赠，用于进一步的救灾支援。全部追加资金将通过中国扶贫基金会，发往灾区，新增手机已经运抵灾区。

至此，诺基亚总捐款额已逾1000万元人民币和5000部手机。

地震发生之后，灾区通讯面临严峻考验。针对灾区当务之急，诺基亚公司和诺基亚西门子通信公司第一时间调集4500部救灾应急通讯用手机，力求帮助地震受灾群众渡过难关，增加营救机会。目前，该批通讯设备已全部运抵灾区投入使用。同时，诺基亚还首批提供了300万元人民币用于紧急救护的善款。

诺基亚会继续关注救灾形势的发展，并提供灾区人民所须的相应支持。
