欧美同学会-中国留学人员联谊会联合中国红十字会于十八日举行“华夏海归、情系灾区、募款赈灾”大型公益活动，海内外广大留学人员踊跃捐款、捐物，用实际行动支援灾区人民。

在这场面向全球留学人员的大型募款赈灾活动中，主持人现场越洋连线美国、法国、澳大利亚等国的留学人员团体，介绍当地留学人员捐款救灾的情况；活动并连线四川绵阳北川县领导，介绍当地抗震救灾的最新进展情况。

欧美同学会常务副会长冯长根宣读了欧美同学会?中国留学人员联谊会向海内外留学人员团体及留学人员发出的《关于向四川地震灾区开展捐助活动的倡议书》，号召海内外广大留学人员弘扬留学报国的爱国主义光荣传统，发扬“一方有难、八方支援”的精神，立即行动起来，慷慨解囊，积极捐助；发挥优势，建言献策，为灾区人民战胜这场地震灾害，尽快渡过难关、恢复生产活动、重建家园作出贡献。

中共中央统战部副部长、欧美同学会党组书记陈喜庆等该会领导参加了此次公益活动，并为赈灾捐款的学长颁发了捐赠证书。

参加此次活动的有上世纪五十年代留学苏联、东欧的老一辈留学人员，有改革开放以来留学归国的中青年留学人员，有一家三代相携、父子两代同往的留学人员家庭，他们慷慨解囊，表达对灾区人民的一片爱心。

会后，中国红十字会将根据欧美同学会的意愿，将此次活动募集的全部善款捐往四川绵阳北川，用于灾后重建学校。
